Welcome to Forest Wind

Forest Wind is a 1,200MW wind farm that is proposed to be built within Australia’s largest exotic pine plantation between Gympie and Maryborough. Forest Wind’s location has been carefully selected and designed to minimise impacts on the landscape, environment, and community.

Forest Wind will generate a large number and wide array of jobs and training opportunities, from direct work during construction and operations, through to indirect jobs for the supply of goods and services to the project.

The wind farm will produce enough clean energy to power around 500,000 houses – that’s 1 in 4 Queensland homes. And each year, the farm will remove 2.62 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere – that’s the same as taking more than one million cars off the road.

Forest Wind remains committed to delivering enduring economic, environmental, and social benefits for the broader community.
